Older adults, 65 years and older, are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. It is extra important that you or your loved ones take action to reduce your risk of getting sick.
Ways to stay safe
- Stay home
Shelter in place and have someone bring you food, medicine, and necessary supplies. Even with the partial re-opening, the government plan calls for continued sheltering in place for at risk groups.
- Wash your hands
Make sure you wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds at a time.
- Keep a safe Distance
Stay 6 feet apart from other people, which is about 2 arm lengths
- Wear a mask
If you do find yourself around other people, wear a mask and ask that they do so as well.
- Clean and disinfect
Make sure you keep frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs and counters clean
